PREPARATION 

​

Sienna X have done everything they can to bring you a natural looking tan without the sun. The rest is up to you!  Here are some tips to ensure you get the very best results.

 

• REMOVE UNWANTED HAIR 24hrs in Advance​ - Just like with exfoliating with any type of hair removal do it before you tan and wait 24 hours to ensure the skin has had a chance to calm. If you wax make sure you do this before you tan or the waxing will take your tan off with it!

​

• EXFOLIATE regularly the week before your spray tan, but as a minimum 24hrs in Advance - The better your canvas is to start with, the better your tan will be!  Using a body scrub or loofah is the ideal way to exfoliate and prepare your skin as this will help remove dull, dead and older skin cells. This creates a smoother surface to apply tanner to and, because the new cells won’t shed so fast, your tan will last longer.​

• DON’T MOISTURISE ON THE DAY OF YOUR SPRAY TAN - On the day of your tan application, don’t moisturise, use heavily scented shower products, wear deodorant or perfume. These products can block the Sienna X tan from touching the skin evenly and will be the only reason anyone would get a streaky or uneven result. Tan application must be applied to completely clean dry skin. Once your full Sienna X Tan has developed then it’s great to moisturise all the time, it can even help the tan last longer! ​

• SIENNA X TAN HOME PRODUCTS - Sienna X have developed a fabulous range of both pre & post spray tan products to ensure perfect long-lasting results.

WHAT TO EXPECT

​

 If you've never had a spray tan before, don't worry as it's really not as scary as you may think.   Please read on to be enlightened so you'll know exactly what to expect when you arrive.    

​​

• It's best to turn up wearing loose dark clothes with dark underwear (bra & knickers or swimsuit or bikini), as your own underwear will leave a much neater tan line than the disposable paper thongs I provide.  

​

• Ladies just so you know, if you would like to be sprayed topless or naked this is totally okay with me. Gentlemen, you will be required to wear your own underwear or a disposable thong.

​

• Please arrive deodorant free, perfume and makeup free, or if this isn't possible, you can remove your makeup here as I provide face wipes which can also be used to remove any deodorant, as this may act as a barrier to the Sienna X formula.

​

• Once you have arrived, I will ask yo to remove your jewellery including rings, earrings, necklaces, bracelets and your watch, however if you prefer not to remove it, the tanning solution shouldn't damage jewellery, please just be aware you will be left with white marks underneath. 

​

• I will talk to you about the depth of tan you would like to achieve, i.e. if it's a 10-day holiday you may want to go dark so it lasts longer, or if it's for a wedding the very next day, you may want to stay lighter so it looks as natural as possible in pictures.  Sienna X offer a variety of tanning solutions, and after our consultation I will be able to select the prefect solution/shade for you. 

​

• I will wait for you around the corner while you get undressed, so you shouldn't feel awkward at all.  At this stage ladies please keep your bra and knickers on as we need to get you kitted out with a protective hair net (to protect your locks, we'll keep your ears out, no matter how silly you feel as they need to be tanned too), sticky feet (they help to avoid getting fake tan on your soles) and apply barrier cream to your knees, elbows, ankles, hands, nails and feet to ensure you don't have any excess tanning solution where it's not wanted.

​

• I will then ask you to enter the Spray Tanning Tent (a one-person pod with an open front), facing away from me towards the back of the tent.  If you would like to remove your bra and/or knickers now's the time.

​

• I will start by applying the solution (dispersed through a spray gun), giving you clear instructions on how to stand as every stage. 

​

• When you're all sprayed and dry you can get dressed. You should ideally bring loose, dark clothing and flip flops and nothing that may rub the tan off, like tight clothing or ankle boots.

​

• Sienna X really isn't too funky-looking before the wash-off, however the guide colour of your tan will probably appear darker than the finished result, so don't worry if you feel like you've applied a bit too much bronzer, it washes off and leaves a lovely colour underneath!  

​

• Unlike other Spray Tans that may leave you smelling a little bit like a malty biscuit, Sienna X smells delicious! It has the scent of being on holiday after you've just applied a lovely coconut sun-cream.  If you need to disguise the smell, apply perfume to your clothes, not your skin.

​

• You can shower after 8 hours

​

• If you're planning on going to bed while your tan develops overnight, please don't worry if the solution is on for more than 8 hours, as there is a maximum tan that can be achieved.

​

• The solution will wash off clothes and bedding, but it's advisable not to have your best white sheets on the bed just in case of any minor staining.
