Lycon is widely regarded as the most comfortable waxing system available, and once clients experience it for the first time, very few ever want to go back to anything else. The difference is genuinely remarkable.

Why is Lycon So Much Less Painful?

Traditional waxing can be uncomfortable because the wax adheres to the skin as well as the hair, causing that dreaded pulling sensation. Lycon works in a completely different way, and there are several reasons why the experience is so much more comfortable.

Firstly, before any wax is applied, a specialist pre-waxing oil infused with apricot kernel oil, jasmine and chamomile is applied to the skin. This creates a protective barrier between the skin and the wax, meaning the wax grips only the hair and not the skin itself, significantly reducing discomfort and irritation.

Secondly, Lycon wax is heated to a much lower temperature than traditional wax, typically around 37 to 40 degrees, compared to traditional waxes which can reach well above 50 degrees. This lower temperature means the skin is never overheated, making it a particularly wonderful option for anyone with sensitive skin or those prone to redness and irritation.

Finally, the wax itself is formulated with the finest natural resins, aromatherapy oils and nourishing ingredients including aloe vera, tea tree and chamomile, which actively soothe and condition the skin throughout the treatment rather than leaving it feeling raw and irritated afterwards. The result is skin that feels soft, smooth and hydrated immediately after the treatment, with minimal redness.

Lycon can remove hair as short as 1mm, meaning you do not have to wait as long between appointments as you would with traditional waxing systems. It is suitable for all skin types including the most sensitive, and for all areas of the body. Hot wax can also be reapplied to the same area multiple times without causing skin trauma or irritation, making it ideal for ensuring every last hair is removed without discomfort.

The more regularly you wax with Lycon, the softer and finer the hair regrowth becomes over time, and many clients find each subsequent treatment more comfortable than the last.

Aftercare Advice
 

• For the first 24 hours after waxing, please avoid heat, steam, saunas, sunbeds, swimming and excessive sweating, as the skin will be more sensitive following the treatment.

• Avoid applying make-up, fake tan, perfumed products or heavy moisturisers to the treated area during this time

• Avoid direct sun exposure

• Do not apply fake tan for at least three days either side of your waxing appointment, as waxing will remove any tan from the skin, leaving a paler patch around the treated area

• To help prevent ingrown hairs, exfoliate the treated area gently two to three times per week once the skin has settled

• Keep the area moisturised daily

• Avoid picking or touching the area in the days following treatment
